Well I have no idea where I lost got to with you. I guess I gave up a little when I lost my iPhone and started work.
Right now I’m on I5 driving south upwards San Francisco. But for now I’ll let youknow what has been happening;
- well I think we were in Hollywood partying with a rock band at a photographers house, up on mullholland drive, overlooking the city.
We then drove to San Fran to see friends where I net mike and the seed for this trip was sown. We pastries there, and then left for a less hectic drive back to Canada.
- upon arrival in Canada we had to get Kiko, Bex’s camper out of the impound and collect her kiwi friend Leigh.
- then we arrived at the Stirling orchard to begin thinning apple trees. We made money, worked long hours and made good friends.
- we had a nice trip down to Penticton to float down the river. After this the key got snapped off in one car. So with aid of a tow from CAA we got the cars and everybody to Canadian Tire where we slept after partying.
Gnosis where I lost my iPhone. I never cared about that, but it meant losing touch with the net.
- with apple thinning done a few of us took a trip to Nelson to see what the hype was about. Needless today we really enjoyed it.
- back to Kelowna and we started cherry picking. Which started off slow, earning not too much, with horrendous early starts. But we made more good friends, never had time to spend money, so saved. We got better, made better money and our fingers fell apart, with the last week our fingers mummified in duct tape.
- some of us got back in touch with chilling, spirit, cooking, sleeping and had a great time.
- I drift apart in my friendship from
Malcolm. I guess it was both of us.
- I have found myself in a good relationship with Bex.
- we took to cycling around town, and getting back to exercise.
So now Bex, Leigh, Erica and I are in the camper en route to arrive Sunday midnight at burning man.
We had a nice slow drive down this time, not having the time constraint of last time, so we sleep at night. We cook in the van when were hungry. And we stop to shop and swim here and there.
The other day we were in Portland, a place I have heard good things about, and it was a great visit. We got Kiko’s brakes changed. We stocked up for burning man. We met some nice musicians in Washington park. We net a great Texan in a brewery and we left very happy.
This morning we woke in a highway rest area near mount Shasta, to drive 2 miles to lake Shasta to have our first wash which was lush.
So three years since I last went to burning man I’m returning this time as a burner with some grey ladies.
But first we are headed to Napa for a little wine tasting!

I’m laying in my pants on my roll mat on a floor. It’s warm. Warm likes hot afternoon in USA, yet it’s 2am.
Last night alan returned, no problems bar road works, but he brought hiddeous alcahol, horrible so that I had to take an hours walk before considering sleep.
So we escaped the camp, no bill, and woke up to a swim, mmm.
Then a drive through te Everglades to avoid the toll road, narrowly avoiding lawful run in, go mercedes man driving a bit faster.
So now we’re in key west, the southern most point of the USA. Hence the temperature, I don’t feel so bad as some of the other surfers staying here.
Our couch host has 5, yes five, of us couchsurfers staying tonight!
We cooked a nice dinner, nice curry. Host, Penelope, turned from veggie this evening. Then all bar her we went out.
Well nicola, he’s still out, we left him in the strip bar.
So sleep tight, for the mossies are out tonight!

I hear sirens, so off goes the music. Maybe it’s the firemen can’t be arses to talk room to room so use loud speakers.
We’re 100m from fort myers beach playing a cardgame: shithead and we’re almost out of wine, all of the cider having been drunk down on the beach.
Fill in; today was a boring 400mile drive down Florida.
We arrived here in time to have a swim in the sea while the sun was setting.
Alan is afraid of the sea, even if it is 2ft deep! Creepy crawlies nibble away your extremities?
It is wonderfully warm here, in the sea and out.
We tried having a pic nic dinner on the beach, but due to the serious amount of mosquitos attacking us, we retreated from the water to drink and play cards.
Alan picked the game, won initially, but that didn’t last long.
So i’m sat here with wine, cards, bread and humous while he’s off buying liquor.
I could cheat and change his cards, but is it worth it?
We’re going to sleep in the tent tonight. There are no camp sites, we’re not allowed to sleep on the beach, so upon the recommendation of a local, we will stay in an RV park, and see what happens in the morning, maybe the owner will wake us us and give us trouble, if not, then Bingo! Free night
Oh and it’s beautiful here by the sea, damn these demon insects.

So it’s been ages and I’m laying by a pool in las Vegas.
Since last I posted we said our farewells to Connie and Gunnar and drove off into the desert. We made a stop by a beach near Santa cruz deep in the fog, where there was a semi sunken ship, home to thousands of birds. Then to San Francisco to meet mike. I met mike at the burning man festival two years back and stayed in contact over facebook.
Mike lives in a lovely place near height street,. So almost central, and has two spare beds, so ace! We had some drinks and went off to party, eventful it certainly was. We couldn’t have hoped to have met some many interesting people, or gone such places had we been tourists. Crazy colombians to ex google start outs and lots of partying fun.
We woke up late the next evening and did relatively little, took a bus tour on an old english bus, but the gear box died on a hill and we spent the evening walking around admiring the architecture of SF.
The next day, Monday I think, alan and I went to the apple store to hand over my MacBook for them to send off for repair, the second time in as many years, but all to apple’s cost.
So after we wandered the water front to pier 39, to catch our ferry. As per usual off into the pacific fog we drifted to the infamous island known as The Rock. It’s pretty cool, über touristy as to be expected and much of the island is inaccesable. The audio tour is cool, being guided by ex-inmates and prison guards. We finished off the day doing some shopping, and had some nice food before passing out.
In the end the San Francisco experience killed off the jet lag, and brought on something else.
Tuesday we set off again, east towards Yosemite. There’s been a huge fire recently which has levelled a large area, and it’s still smouldering, but it’s still breath-takinly beautiful. While driving I decided, ‘alan turn right!’ so we found this waterfall, maybe 250m tall. After a long clamber over the boulder stream we found the pool at the bottom of the rainbow, er waterfall. It was a cold swim and dive, but oh lots of fun. This is where a waterproof camera would come in handy, but the one I’m interested in is so popular that nobody has it.
So off we drove taking photos along the way and found some hitch-hikers from the east coast living in the Rockies. So a lots of chatting about snow and hiking and we had the tip off to a free night in a campsite.
We didn’t lack in alcahol, managed to play two person flip-cup and drink until we saw shooting stars. It was bloody cold and at 2am I woke and went and slept in the car.
Finally cold and tired I woke alan at 7am and we dove out to the park exit. Then we proceeded to climb mount Dana. As we walked the sun rose, and as we rose we ran out of air. It’s was beautiful, but I can’t remember ever climbing a mountain and seriously doubting the liklihood of reaching the summit. But we made it to almost 14000ft headachey, exhausted but to some stunning views. It’s took us 2.5 hours to get up and less than an hour down.
So yesterday we had a scorcher of a drive down through death valley, enjoyed the sunset from below sea level.
We arrived into Vegas last night so to the neon capital of madness, and rather than going crazy we collapsed into a cheap little hotel to sleep.
It’s getting hot, and time to check out. Time to check the town out.
Good luck.

Cooling off.
Dad, Alison, Paul, sophie, alan and I are near Salisbury at the maybe’s house in the country. We had a nice nature hunt in wellies. Then snooker, the oldies being smashed by the kids. A lovely home meal was followed by a crazy three a side familiy on on family ping pong match, which was pretty chaotic. Five balls at once is hard to follow.
So what better way than to have a sauna/swim session? So ultimatly I feel tired but freshhhh.
My walk Tuesday was great, I wrote a poemish thing. Then sweated a whole load and ate lots of free fruit.
Wednesday involved doing Very little. Dad alan and I saw district 9 in letchworth cinema, nice, comfy, cheap. I must say that the film I worth watching, it’s a new idea, with good morals. The basics are refugee treatment, and solidarity and freedom, see it, it’s wicked!
Yesterday we had a memorial for Ian/Nam, with some old family friends, families who we grew up with, nanny, some of his school friends, and family. It was emotional, but wonderful. Again yo hear such wonderful things, atop a hill under the sun was great. Being talked into taking part was definately worth it, it was cleansing, and left me feeling great.
Afterwards, some came back to dads for dinner, and it was the first time that us Home Farm kids were together in donkey’s years.
So to bed and a day of who knows what tomorrow.

Today was a glorious sunny day, for the most part.
It was great to have the day with my other family. After a hearty breakfast we went for a walk along the coast, with much Fronk play, channel swimming and a pic nic on the beach.
Deb managed to put us half to sleep with a fire at home.
So I ran off before my eyelids fell. And now I’m back near Chichester.
I’m very happy to have managed to get down to kernow and the draganfly cottage.
So an early rise tomorrow, and time to see if this big boat can float!

I’m laying in a cottage in Cornwall with big green letters painted on my front saying ‘lucky dip’
I had a lovely morning chatting with trixie. A wonderful pretty fairy girl, and lots of sunshine. So I left Glastonbury feeling much better than when I arrived. All the people there helped me feel good, and some told me that I did a good deal to make them feel better, so all in I left there feeling good
Well I got to cornwall and the gorgeous weather was grey and English. But I was instantly ordered to get naked, painted up, stuffed pants with lottery tickets and the family and I went off to stand in a field, laugh at others, but mainly get laughed at.
We did not win the dress up contest, by far. Deb scared away all of the photographers. And we had a long walk through town, scaring children who we only wanted to give sweets and make them smile. We were carnival
Ali, deb and I had Chinese, mmm and met Izzi, mark and a rather hairless drink.
I really hope we get to go to the sea and swim tomorrow, even if it does rain.

So I came so close to winning poker, second however is not winning. I think I needed more booze to keep it straight and level headed. Well €2 in no loss.
Yesterday I had a margerita, soo strong, only a swim in big waves to reduce it before dinner, geez looking after children is tiring. The drive back was late, long, fast, bumpy and fun.
I found a dead bat in the car. I drove 600km smoothly, found beaches, realised my phone won’t work, and spent time running around time trying to get a phone card.
I’m in a tent in st malo, beautiful, rightfully touristy town. It’s kind of like Dubrovnik in Croatia, just islands of castles. There’s even a diving board into a pool, that is hidden when the tide is up.
It’s super brittanic, I like, I’ll try and have a crepe tomorrow, I’ve never actually had one in britanny!
I saw alex earlier, recovering from the weekend. Then I spent the evening in the countriside playing poker, a nice frenchy evening, where I was branded as not English.
Maybe tomorrow I could be daring enough to dive off the high board into the pool by the sea?!?!

I’m in hossegar, just north of biaritz, we can see biaritz and Spain from the beach.
I’m in a world of verbier guys, staying with nico and charlie, another couple of verbs are here too. I bumped into vince my head chef from winter last night. It’s so bizarre, verbier life is everywhere.
It’s so nice to be back by the sea. Yesterday nico and I were body surfing in waves up to 2m. It’s crazy floating up the on the crest, like flying, like superman.
Last night we did the verbier thing and drank loads, so feeling rough now. I still don’t enjoy the meat Market clubs. I’m awake, waiting for these other guys to wake, or at least admit that they are also awake.
Then we can go to the beach. I’ve never even touched a surf board, but joao is a surf instructor, so no time like now to try.
And here I am sleeping on a double bed sized sofa bed, the luxury!

I had a lovely vegorganic breakfast near the ramblas in Barcelona this morning. I haven’t eaten since then an am a bit peckish, I feel like eating cold tortilla.
Just now the waves came flying up the beach, screams all round, and some people fleed with wet towels
I’m laying on the beach near mongat nord, it’s just about a barable temperature in the air. I’m waiting for laia to finish work, then see what we will get up to. Hanging in premia is boring, but going into Barcelona is expensive, so have to wait n see.
Last night I stayed in a pleasent enough hostel, ramblas house, supposedly a chilled place. I needed sleep, otherwise I would have loved to have joined the cards and drinking.
But the highlight was going to see the ‘magic fountain’ near placa españa. Last year the fountain wasn’t running due to drought, but my god, everybody has to see this. It’s an opera of water, a giant colour changing, musical phenomena. There were maybe 2000 people there. It was possibly better with the occassional showers passing over, and red yellow sky off inland.
