Again it’s been a long time. I don’t find myself with a lot of free time these days, especially with Christmas and new year having just passed. Well now I do have time, being driven by steve. I drove us as far as the rogers pass, and he has the last 100km to do while we listen to hits of the 80′s.
Alan and I were to be evicted from out house, as john decided that after nine days we were too rowdy, but we’ve been behaving and have convinced him to give us another chance, so no parties, no friends round, no sillyness for the next few fortnights.
Alan quit his job due to the early starts, but no worries as he should be working in a bar in the next few days, and will even get his lift ticket refunded because he’ll be working on the mountain.
As for me and working, I have worked a bit, I’m working as a ski/snowboard instructor at Nakiska resort, it’s about a 45 minute drive, kind of a small hill, but pay isn’t too bad and the people I work with are great. I still need to find more work to get by and save up some money, but I’m sort of working on that. Job hunting was an option during the busy holiday period.
So Christmas day was great, we got a group together for a picnic on the mountain. It’s was a glorious sunny day, warmest for ages, and we basked with bagels and sparkling german wine, henkel! Yum. So then we went back to town and had a fun dinner buffet in the keg restaurant and tried to drink after, but with most bars closed it wasn’t too late of a night.
My new years eve was never going to be crazy with the knowledge that I had to wake up at 6:30 to goto work and teach kids all day. Nonetheless I had fun, and spent the 1st sleep deprived.
So life is good, it hasn’t snowed much until 3 days ago, and well it’s been too busy to go up the mountain, so work and chilling has taken up most of the time.
So back to now and steve and I are on a little roadtrip to see Seb, a mate from verbier, who lives in revelstoke. I’m trying not to get my hopes up over this place but there’s quite a buzz going around about the snow and mountain. Now steve’s getting road rage haha.
So now I’ll leave you with some photos:
That bird beast is a turducken, chicken stuffed inside a duck inside a turkey, impressive and gross!
