I think I’m awake now. I’ve been repeatedly dreaming that I’m awake and starting the day. Only to roll over and back to sleep. I can’t remember the other dreams, but they’ve been strange.
From Liverpool I stopped by dads and saw alan.
Then I headed over to silverstone to see chris and andy and the rest of the family. It was great to see chris, and was entertaining to get drunk, have a BBQ and see his family pass out one by one.
I’ve now got my bike in the car and trashed soMe stuff from the store.
Yesterday I arrived into Glastonbury, phone out of battery. I hoped and had a feeling that I’d bump into nam, rather than having to find somewhere to charge my phone or work out other means to find him. And luckily enough I bumped into him just before entering a phone box( I didn’t have his number, so no idea what I’d have done).
We had a little tour, followed by a run up the tor. I met aria and lucyfer, two wonderful people who he lives with outside of Glastonbury.
She insisted repeatedly that we watch ‘legends of zu’, damn good that she did, it is awesome!!
So off to sleep to catch up in the last few days. I hope for a better head tomorrow.

Waking and waking and waking
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009Rain rain, go away, come again another day
Sunday, July 12th, 2009This morning i woke up after a good nights sleep. We had some bran and donned the wetsuits. I was taken on an awesome tour around the area, by Jet ski! It wasn’t too cold, but the rain in the face made it impossible to see above 50kph, but didn’t stop me pushing for 75kph. We came across seals, and ruins, and islands, the funnest couchsurf ever?
So I made the drive back up to Dublin an arrived in time to have a meal at an indian, spicy, and catch the boat towards Liverpool. It was mainly truckers, but free food, not that I was hungry. Also we were warned of gale force winds up to force 8. No problem, but we may arrive into Liverpool early, due to us leaving Dublin early.
Back to watching ‘the little girl who lives down the lane’. Good night.
Katyn
Friday, July 10th, 2009this film is awesome, one of the most emotional, powerful films i have ever seen. (imbd link, wiki link)

directed by a classic aged polish director, Andrzej Wajda, who lost his father in the massacre of katyn, it portrays the lead up to, the repeated cover ups, the families, and finally the massacre of the 22000+ POWs and other poles by the russians.
it is a very sad film, and very well produced.
i left it unable to even speak.
then the old lady sat further down my row (there must have been just 10 people in the cinema) started bitching about how outragious it is for people to take their shoes off in public. grrrrr. i told her to grow up and if she has problems with other people to speak up and not bitch. grrrrr, i’m still angry.
Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteLong body
Thursday, July 9th, 2009We had a good long sleep, so feeling good today.
We wandered across town to catch the bus a bit out of town to glasnevin cemetery. Catholic cemeteries are usually pretty ornate and interesting. Some of this was, some of it wasn’t. I’ve not seen a cemetery that is in such a state of neglect. Not all of it however as some was composed of huge monoliths devoted to families. Some was simply tacky and garish. The strangest thing was that the head stones, for the most part, included the street address and house number. We wonder why?
That left us super hungry, and off to juice we went. The poshest vegetarian restauant I think that I’ve ever been to, but nicely filling, not bad to have three courses for €12.
I got around to buying a road map for my car, which may come in useful.
In a shop that has been closed most attemps which we tried to get in(there was something interesting in the window) I tried on a shirt, nice, bought it. But the interesting object, I wouldn’t know how to describe it, let alone name it, was a bit short. The twat in there decided to go on about how I have too Long a body, quite long he went on. Silly short guy.
So now I’m sat with some ready to heat Indian meals in my bag, outside the cinema, to see katyn, the film I wanted to watch last night.
It’s a long, long way, to county derry
Thursday, July 9th, 2009Agota and I had a drink last night, again super expensive, and the dj couldn’t even mix.
So we managed to get up bright an early to drive north at 9am. It took us almost 4 hours to get to the giant’s causeway. I think I remember being there when I wad like three years old?! It’s pretty touristy, and parking isn’t cheap. But still it was a nice place for a pic nic. And the first warmth and sunshine that I’ve had in Ireland.
After that we had absolutely no time left before we had to head back to Dublin to get agota back in time for work. I’d have liked to walk across the rope bridge, but I guess it’ll have to wait until next time.
This evening I walked around town, heard the funny accent a lot and ate some salad.
I also went to the cinema, the lighthouse, an independant cinema to see sugar. It’s a Spanish American film about a baseball player from Dominican. It was nice, sad in the middle, happy in the end. I like to see independant showings, it makes for a different experience. I have to say that listening to the south American Spanish accent is weird, I can barely understand much compared to the real Spanish.
So I’ve booked a ferry to England for Saturday night, and am working on couch surfing tomorrow night.
Time for a chilled tomorrow, goodnight.
mad world
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009i’ve just finished watching donnie darko. it’s not the first time by far, but it still has the same emotional effectivness that it has done every time that i have watched it.
today agota and i saw many of the interesting sites in dublin city; dame street, dublin castle, st. stephen’s green, christ church cathedral, the guiness storehouse and st. james’ gate factory, smithfield, the chimney, old jameson distillery, four courts, national photo archive, national photography gallery and some more. there is more to see in town like the cemetery, phoenix park and the gaol, all in good time.
it’s true this city may contain a quarter of ireland’s population, but it does feel like a smallll town. the weather changes, and we’ve had warm, cold, sun, rain and wind. the shopping seems a bit dull, but i did spend hours wondering around the west end of london, so i shouldn’t judge this.
oh and this city seems super expensive. the euro is expensive, though i noticed it has lost some value against the dollar, and the cost of everything is just expensive, like €5.20 for a pint!!!!!! food is no better, nor is anything else. this puts dublin up there with paris for being one of the most expensive places to visit as a tourist.
agota is at work, and i guess we’ll go out for a drink later, but for now i’m chilling and making a start at looking at my photos from my recent travels.
adobe lightroom seems to have done something that is annoying. while importing my library it has neglected many photos, due to the reason that some have the same name. i have over 20000 photos, and have used just canon camers, so it’s hugely likely that i’ll have photos with the same filename as the cameras rotate through the numbers. i will have to work this out, and i know it will cost a great deal of time and frustration.
Rough seas
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009i spent yesterday evening with izzi n her boyfriend mark. we had a nicish dinner by the canal in sardo. nice food, but poor value for money, and one rude waiter. but the guys were fun, and i spent some time with fronk, izzi’s baby puppy pug. it is insane, and pugly and cute and wierd!
i picked up a new pair of yen jeans. i love the design of these jeans. they aren’t cheap, but i guarentee that i will wear the life out of them. i haven’t really worn much in the way of other trousers, apart from yen’s, in the past 4 years. independant small designers beat the highstreet in my opinion.
i then met agota up in turnpike lane and we set off for fishguard. so this journey was slow due to traffic, and to make the long day worse, we arrived 40 minutes after a ferry left, leaving us with a two and a half hour wait before the next departure. also i had a couple of words from the local constabulary due to an overtaking i made earlier in the county, but all fine. it shows how different a world that i have been living in to that which is so close by.
so the ferry wasn’t without incident. agota and i sat upstairs to avoid the crowds of kids, to get some peace. once we left, she made a little joke about sea sickness. but this soon turned into a nightmare, for agota, and the whole ship. we were on a smallish catamaran ferry and so the small swells caused a lot of rolling. after 15 minutes agota ran to the toilets, and i didn’t see her for an hour and a half. for the rest of the ship, i have never seen so many sick people in my life. 80% of the passengers were regularly using the sick bags. piles of them dissappeared from the stocks. i didn’t have the slightest problem, but it was pretty disturbing to watch it, like watching a school that has just been poisoned. well you should have seen the passenger’s faces pick up colour when the captain announced that we were 10 minutes from land.
the drive to dublin was peaceful and slow. the government here really pushes the lower speed limit, and with shock signs it is very effective.
agota and i went out for a pint, some greasy food and came home for a bit more drinking, and a french chat with her flatmates. so it’s time for bed, it’s been a long day.
but first you have to watch the best ever topgear road test:
ever. jeremy clarkson at his best, in a ford fiesta!!!
Buena vista
Sunday, July 5th, 2009I’m sat atop primrose hill, the sun is low in the sky. It’s beautiful.
Pride was pretty entertaining. Ben and I sat in trafalgar square drinking champagne, laughing at the crazy out-fits, and scantily clad trannies. We sat with elle n her boyfriend in soho square. Peed on a fence, got shouted at and ran away.
We bumped into Anne, stressed out. Some more booze and headed home. Ben was a bit worse for wear and joined harry in bed.
The other four of us stayed up until the sun came up. So I’m surprisingly doing not to badly, ben is a mess.
Had lunch with Anne in covent garden and I’ve walked across most of central London.
Now it’s time to wait for Izzi to finish work and go out for dinner.
Hangin
Saturday, July 4th, 2009Euggg hung over. I just had to drive across central London feeling like crap.
I’m going to o and see portabello road.
I’m looking for an old chunky gold watch, preferably not in working order, I don’t care to know the time too much.
Yesterday I dropped by camden to see the guys in Cyberdog and popped by izzi’s and met her baby pug. It’s cute but sooo weird.
Then I headed to the squat in crouch end to meet with bertrand. We drank cider. There were lots of puppies available, I’d have loved to take one, but i’m far from capable of looking after one at the present time.
Matt came along and we and others went to Camden to go out. I that the first time that I actually went to Camden to go out like that?
Well the purple turtle was strange, like being in the five Years ago life, seeing mates and colleagues from before. Then we went to Dublin castle where we danced. I was so drunk that a girl I was getting with gave up. Oops!
So now I need breakfast to cure my self inflicted ails.
Oh and the iPod having Bluetooth, about bloody time, I love it.
